The Annual Indigenous Engagement Institute Workshop
Each year, the Indigenous Engagement Institute traverses Turtle Island (Canada and the United States), teaching best practices, practical examples, and new conceptual frameworks for building relationships with Indigenous Peoples that lead to mutually beneficial outcomes and advance our progress towards reconciliation.
Our signature workshop brings together a diverse cohort of Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizational leaders in climate, conservation and sustainability for a transformative experience that will provide guidance for personal, organizational and societal change.
Over the course of 2.5 days, participants will:
- Immerse themselves in Indigenous culture and worldview through experiential learning activities, storytelling, and cultural exchanges.
- Gain skills and knowledge necessary for engaging with Indigenous communities, understanding the roots of conflict in the North American context, and working towards equity and justice.
- Work alongside inspired colleagues to develop strategies and initiatives for advancing reconciliation in their organizations and communities.
If you work in government, industry, philanthropy or academia and are ready to level up your organization's engagement, reconciliation and conservation plans in partnership with Indigenous People, then this workshop is for you.
